Where The Wild Things Are (2015: Kindergarten)

On 1/23/2015 the Kindergarteners at SFE were treated to a visit from Terri Herring, an artist with the Artist in Residence (AIR) Program.  The program this day would take these young students to Where the Wild Things Are, a story by Maurice Sendak.  After an interactive reading session featuring Sendak’s popular story, the students worked with clay to create their very own version of a Sendak character that could easily be found in his wild and wooly story.  Please enjoy these photos of the imaginations at work in Mrs. Yorgey’s Kindergarten classroom.  Many thanks to AIR and Terri for this inspiration.
