KINDERGARTEN…WE THOUGHT YOU’D LIKE TO KNOW!

• During the first weeks of school, teachers and staff will help your child get off the bus and walk to their kindergarten classroom.

• Kindergarten sessions are:  AM  9:10-11:45 a.m.   PM  1:05-3:40 a.m.

• Please mark all personal items with your child’s name, a “K-AM or K-PM,” and the teachers initial for identification.  Example: Susan Jones KH-AM (“H” for Mrs. Hoke).

• Send your child to school with a nut-free snack and a drink each day.

• A Parent-Student Handbook and a Sol Feinstone Elementary School Code of Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct will be sent home the first week of school.

• In some cases, due to the office distribution schedule, the AM kindergarten students may bring home school bulletins the day after the general student population.

• Your teacher will provide a classroom schedule and weekly newsletter to keep you informed about curriculum and activities.

• There are many opportunities for which to volunteer in the kindergarten setting.  Your child’s teacher will circulate a volunteer form at Back to School Night so that you can indicate your interest in a regular, or occasional, visit to your child’s class.

• Upon returning home on a school bus, an adult must receive your child at the bus stop.

• The PTO offers many enjoyable activities for students and their families throughout the year.  We encourage you to join the PTO if you’d like to support these efforts.  Annual dues are $35 and include a school directory.

• The PTO calendar, other PTO information and online PTO registration are available at our new and improved website www.sfepto.com.

• Back to School Night is a parent-oriented event scheduled for the week of September 12th.  Please arrange for childcare for your child(ren) as this is a parent-only event.

• For additional school information, please visit the Council Rock School District website, www.crsd.org, then select Sol Feinstone Elementary School from the “select a school” drop down menu at the top left of the screen.

• Buddy Families are available through the PTO Welcome Committee.  If you wish to be in contact with a “veteran” SFE parent/family, the buddy form or contact the Welcome Committee Chair Tricia Lentz at [email protected].
